    Very eye opening book!

I’m currently in the process of reading this insightful book, and have to say , it includes beautiful scientific and Quranic explanations to remind us of Islam. I would say I haven’t even read 10 pages yet , but have learnt so much ! Wanted a book to remind me of my creator and this has most definitely excelled my expectations! Mushtaq, the author , explains very detailed scientific knowledge firstly , in a much simpler way for the average human mind to understand . I love the insights into the Quran and explanations ! Finding out what gut feelings really mean and the science behind the connection between the heart and the brain really inspired me to remember what my purpose is and how to take care of my heart better ! JazakAllah Khairun !

    Beautiful little Book.

What a lovely little book. I don’t know why but I was expecting a hard going in depth scientific book here. Don’t get me wrong, it is scientific. Yet it’s an easy, enjoyable read. There were some scientific parts that I was unaware of which I found fascinating. Especially the cells of a heart and the beating that synchronises when hearts are close together. Then breastfeeding was brought into play. I know my daughter when she was a baby sometimes stopped breathing for a few seconds at a time. When she slept on me we always seemed to breathe the same. It makes sense if our hearts were synchronised.I really enjoyed reading this and am sure I will go back to it again. I know I will certainly be trying to purify my heart using advice found in this book.

bargepole and seamen lots Hoo Stretched like tent fourteen realms are within the hearts slots Hoo …

The author belonged to a particular sect that doesn’t approve of spirituality. The references he had quoted were mostly from the authors or translators of that sect. on one point he quotes only first line of the poem from poetry of Hazrat Sultan Bahoo “Hearts are deeper than rivers and oceans who knows about heart hoo”. he uses this line in his argument that who could know the mystery of the heart. It would have been fair if the whole of poem was copied. the whole poem is as follows,Hearts are deeper than the river and oceans who would know about hearts HooWithin it are ships, boats, bargepole and seamen lots HooStretched like tent fourteen realms are within the hearts slots HooThe one who is acquainted with heart ‘Bahoo’ such will attain Sustainer’s recognition HooSultan Bahoo clearly defines the reality of heart and its capacity. The secret of hearts are beautifully expressed by Sufi masters because their innermost is illuminated with manifestation of God. It is the spiritual heart that is often mentioned as “qalb” but it is translated in English as soul and physical heart is described in Quran as “mudgha” whereas the spiritual heart is mentioned as “fawad”. The thoughts emerges in the spiritual heart (soul) and it sends messages to the brain and brain acts upon it. We have two thoughts one negative that comes from ones base self known as “nafs” and positive thought is from spiritual heart (soul). physical heart is a pump it has a chamber known as SA node that has pulse and that pulse which is the spirit known as “Ruh”. I paper of mine was published in the academia.com under the topic of spiritual influence upon the heart and mind in accordance to the Islamic concept. details are in it.

    Doesn’t go far enough

He had written it well but short of objective as who can guide towards innermost of heart. This spiritual science cannot be attained my any one with PHD or MBBS it need spiritual invoking. Obviously the author belongs to the sect that doesn’t favour spirituality and that sect consider some practices of spirituality as polytheist. There is no mention of innermost heart soul and where is spirit in relation to soul and further what is the trust that was presented by God Almighty on the day of grand convocation.

A thoroughly enjoyable and informative book

Great book on Science & Islam! It is filled with amazing scientific discoveries to show that human heart is an organ of intellect. It will change your whole outlook on the heart. The author not only presents the scientific facts but proves that why the Qur’an regards the human heart as the center of intellect. The author has drawn from a wide range of religious and modern scientific sources. The sections I like the most are the relationship of the heart and the mother-child bond and the section about the heart and the acceptance of Islam. The section on how to cure the spiritual diseases of the heart is also worth-reading. Good research work!

    Insight on the heart

This was a great read, I couldn’t put it down. I am not Muslim however I originally got this as a gift for someone who is and all the things he spoke of when reading it made me want to buy it for myself and someone else. The comparisons of the heart and brain was very enlightening. The logic in this author’s explanation of the connection between a fetus, newborn, and mother’s heartbeat was very intriguing.
